TBA This race, started by Don McLeod, was first "marathon ski tour" and was designed to be the longest in the world. The two-day event covers 160 km (99 mi) of pathways and is divided into 10 parts. The 2000 participants can ski as few as 12 km (7.5 mi) or complete the entire course.

Casino du Lac-Leamy Sound of Light Aug 09 to Aug 10 One of the largest fireworks competitions in Canada, the Casino du Lac-Leamy Sound of Light event gives visitors the chance to see amazing fireworks displays created by pyrotechnic artists from across the globe. A variety of other activities are on offer and there is a beer tent, a concessions area and a family zone onsite.

Aug 29 to Sep 01 This popular festival features hot air balloons from around the globe in all shapes, sizes and colours that bring the Gatineau sky alive. This mega-festival also attracts a host of famous entertainers from a variety of backgrounds, from singers to poets, on the Molson Dry Main Stage. An amusement park is also a popular pastime at this event. Also watch for fireworks, buskers, magic and more! This festival occurs annually at the end of August in La Baie Park.
